futura - a queer Mythology

FUTURA is an intermediate HYBRID WORLD and alternate ecosystem in which various temporalities and realities are lived as one. Taking the seemingly impossible as its source, FUTURA playfully allows the enactment of the future in the present. Livia Rita and the Avantgardeners construct a queer, ever growing, self-empowering occult universe with its own ecology - interweaving dreams and anxieties into a future-focused mythology. In FUTURA, we play with ambitious new identities and grow magical, meaningful relationships with nature and each other. FUTURA aims to be a safe-space for the wounded, a place for collective healing and metamorphosis. Constantly in flux, it conjures the potentials of the imaginary and moves between dystopian fears and utopian desires inviting new possibilities and states of readiness for the future.
